MMLP - The MM Landing Page System

Modified on Wed, 13 Nov, 2024 at 11:59 AM

INTERNAL USE ONLY

In the beginning, MM sent all traffic to its main site.

Over time, we wanted standalone landing pages. In 2019 Erik started doing unbounce landing pages, which was ok, but missed a bunch of features that are really helpful to us as an org.

Specifically
- Didn't use our tracking #'s
- Didn't use our lead counting system
- didn't use our attribution
- Didn't use our analytics
- Didn't report back to our zee analytics
- No IT oversight
- Brittle interface
etc

So, we built them a new system. Wendy has a ton of experience with webflow, so we are letting her build the landing pages in webflow, then upload them to IT's a proprietary system which does a lot of magic checking and rewrites how the forms work, replaces phone numbers, etc.

It basically handles all the shortcomings listed above.

See attached document for expectations and commitments.

If in doubt, refer to William. If not in doubt, tag William on the ticket so he knows what the pulse is.

Top questions:
- I just need DNS settings set up for this tool.... no! We are not hosting webflow content (or any other tools content) on our site. Refer to William

- "How do I load things again" - export the webflow archive zip file, follow directions in doc. Also refer to William.

- "It doesn't work" / "Its too complex" / etc - William

- "Can't you just approve the item in the queue? it's super urgent" - Unfortunately, no, page revisions have to go through a process (note: the final step of that process is William signing off on it to check they haven't done something that will cause leads to be lost etc). Again, refer to William.

- "What's my password" - it's your MyMM login, provided you show as a Marketing Admin. DO NOT make anyone in Marketing or Design a full system admin, as various safety features in a bunch of products assume only IT have full rights (with full rights, all the limits come off, including letting people do very dangerous things like order thousands of phone numbers, or spinning up dozens of servers, and a bunch of other stuff). Marketing Admin role is specifically designed to give them everything they need.
