Email Delivery / Email Open Status

Modified on Wed, 13 Nov, 2024 at 12:01 PM

When sending emails in Compass, the system shows additional information:

- which email address(es) the message was sent to.
- delivery information for those addresses (whether the email was delivered, opened, bounced, etc)

When viewing the ‘tasks and communications’ tab, you will see the email address(es) each message was sent to.

Additionally, the following icons are used to notate the status of the email message:
- ? – Delivered

- ? – Opened (implies it was delivered)

- ️ -- Delayed (may eventually bounce, but we’re retrying.. will either update to ‘bounced’ or ‘delivered’ eventually)

- ?- Bounced

Important Note regarding Opened Emails
"Opened" email notifications are based on the email being reported as opened. All email open tracking solutions have the possibilities of false positives & false negatives.  While usually accurate, if the user blocks all images in their emails, the email view will not be recorded. Equally, if the user utilizes certain antivirus/privacy software, the email view may be recorded even if the user has not yet read the email.
