- The server and client machines must be on the same version.
- Ariel or Jessica can retrieve the license number and product number.
- The server may require a reboot based on the installation prompts.
QuickBooks Database Server Update
- To update the server, remote into 10.0.0.9.
- Download the current version of QuickBooks Enterprise.
- Start the installation, and change the install directory to C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit
- Select the option "I will NOT be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer..."
- After the installation is complete, go to start and run "services.msc"
- Verify the service QBCFMonitorService is set to start up automatically and that under the Recovery tab, all failures are set to "Restart service"
- Verify the service QuickBooksDBXX is set to start up automatically and that under the Recovery tab, all failures are set to "Restart service" (NOTE: This service's ending numbers should match the number displayed within the QB Database Server Manager "Server Name")
QuickBooks Desktop Update on Workstations
1. Map the Q Drive \\10.0.0.9\QuickBooks on the computer.

**If the user uses VPN, modify the .pbk file to not user session credentials.
1. Navigate to: %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\PBK
2. open the .pbk file in notepad
3. Look for 'UseRasCredentials=1'
4. Update the 1 to 0 ('UseRasCredentials=0')
5. Save the file

2. Launch the most recent installer for Quickbooks Enterprise. This can be obtained from the web.
3. Enter the licensing information and product number. This is information can be retrieved from Ariel or Jessica.
3. When prompted for Custom and Network Options, select "I'll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer and I'll be
storing..." (note: the file is stored on the server, however this is
required for "Multi-User" access.
4. If prompted for the Edition type, select "Enterprise Solutions General Business
5. If prompted to activate the software, select "Begin Activation" (this may present itself after installation is completed)
6. Proceed with install - Open QB. When it launches, it may ask about Industry type; see step 4.
7. Finish any additional steps for the installation prompts.
8. A window will pop up regarding updates, select Yes. The program will launch, if prompted for activation, select "Proceed with Activation".
End users will connect companies. The files are located on the mapped QB drive from step one.

TIPS: If the users are complaining about the inability to access Multi-User mode or encounter H202 errors, log into the server and launch the QB Tools Hub program > Network Issues > QuickBooks Database Server Manager > Scan Folders > Start Scan.
You can also check and see if the user(s) having the problem connecting is listed under Database Server > Currently connected.... as well. If a specific company file is being problematic, there are steps that can be taken, with the last resort of having Jessica run File Doctor, which requires the admin login for QB.
