Searching In Compass

Modified on Wed, 13 Nov, 2024 at 11:59 AM

The Search box at the top of the Dashboard screen is a

powerful tool, capable of quickly locating all references across various
entries of the system such as customer records, invoices, notes, and more.

The system does account for misspellings. It does account for searching for

partial information if only a fragment of the search term is entered.

Entering a complete or partial search term in the field
above the navigation bar will immediately begin returning search results.

Due to the way compass indexes

information, there are many fields in which the search system can pull search
results from.  Below is a table of each
field which is indexed by Compass, along with the relevant records they are
found within.

Customer Level Search

The other option to search within Compass is through the "Customer Drop down list."

Each one of the options will apply a filter on the complete list of customers within the instance of Compass.

These filters are:
  1. Customers - Unfiltered, no data is removed from search results.
  2. Customers with Upcoming Estimate Appointments - Only those customers with estimate appointments scheduled in the future will be displayed.
  3. Customers with Scheduled Jobs upcoming - Only customers who have projects scheduled in the future will be displayed.
  4. Customers with Unclosed Estimates - Only customers who have estimates that have not been accepted or rejected pending will be displayed.
  5. Customers with Unscheduled Projects - Only customers with estimates that have been accepted, but have not had the project scheduled for technicians to perform the work will be displayed.
  6. Customers with Child Customers - Only Commercial Customers who have child accounts associated with them will be displayed. These are sometimes referred to as Master Accounts.
  7. Customers with Outstanding Balances - Only customers who have had projects completed, but have a balance remaining to be paid will be displayed.

If you were looking for a collection of customers who match any of the above criteria, you now have the records in front of you, if you need to find someone specific, you could also use the Customer Level Search to quickly locate any customer that meet the filtered criteria

This will quickly return any Customers who match the filtered criteria, and the search term.
